
ACTS 17:10-13
“People are dying in the US because of a dangerous jungle spider.” This rumor was going around. Plenty of technical terms and actual circumstances made the story seem plausible. But Jeff knew it was a web scam when he checked it out from reliable sources and discovered it was false. Only by consulting credible sources could its authenticity be established.
In the first century, a group of believers in Macedonia knew the importance of verifying what they were hearing. The residents of Berea eagerly listened to the message and daily searched the Scriptures to confirm its truth (Acts 17:11).
We need to exercise caution when we encounter spiritual concepts that disturb us. In addition to consulting the Bible and reliable sources, we can ask Jesus, our Lord, for guidance.
