ISAIAH 55:8-11
In dry regions, water brings about wonderful transformations. For instance, during the dry season, the pincushion cactus goes completely dormant. Cactuses, however, bloom with delicate pink, gold, and white petals after the first rain.
Similar to this, in the Holy Land, dry land might sprout plants over night following a shower. Isaiah used the renewal of the rain to represent God’s renewing word (Isaiah 55:10–11).
Scripture is alive with spiritual energy. It does not return void because of this. It brings renewal, sustenance, and new life wherever it meets an open heart.
The Bible is to a soul that is thirsty as water is to a dry land.
