1 KINGS 19:1-12
Elijah might have grown accustomed to being the focal point of God’s mighty manifestations. When he prayed, God responded dramatically, first by miraculously defeating the prophets of Baal and later by ending the protracted and severe drought (1 Kings 18). However, Elijah then began to flee out of fear. In order to nourish him and give him energy for his journey, God sent an angel. When he reached Horeb 40 days later, he was shown by God that He was now speaking to him in a quiet voice and not by grand miracles (19:11–12).
If you are discouraged because God has not manifested Himself to you in a blaze of splendour, perhaps He is revealing Himself to you by means of His still, small voice.
God is present in the little things as well as the great.
🙏Thank You for the gift of Your quiet presence, wherever we may find it today, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
