A BATTLE OF WORDS

PROVERBS 15:1-2

In response to the murder of Archduke Francis Ferdinand and his wife, Sophie, Austria-Hungary declared war on Serbia on July 28, 1914. Other European nations sided in order to uphold their military ties and further their own goals within 90 days. World War I, one of the most catastrophic military confrontations in modern history, began as a single incident that grew out of control.

War is tragic, but even with just a few nasty words, our relationships and families can start to fall apart.

A tiny remark can spark a significant argument. By God’s grace, we glorify Jesus our Saviour when we refrain from responding with words. When He was mistreated and ridiculed, He did not speak (Isaiah 53:7).

🙏 Lord, make us instruments of your peace.
