PSALM 107:1-16
When computer trailblazer Steve Jobs passed away in 2011, more than a million individuals from all around the world paid him online homage. How Jobs had affected their lives was a recurring theme. They claimed that his inventive inventions had changed the way they lived, and they wanted to both thank him and convey their sorrow.
Expression is fueled by gratitude, which is exactly what Psalm 107 suggests. This psalm is about people who were in terrible situations and were delivered by the Lord. Some of these people were destitute and homeless; others had disobeyed God’s Word; still others were at their wit’s end when they cried out to God. God delivered all of them.
We can not help but praise God and want to share with others how He has transformed our lives when we consider the magnitude of His love, His grace in sending Jesus Christ to die for us and what He has saved us from.
The motivation for our witness to others is our thanksgiving to God for salvation.
ððžO God, our hearts are filled with praise for all that You have done for us. You have changed the focus and purpose of our lives.
