STORY TIME

2 CORINTHIANS 3:1-3

When my mother told us stories as a child, I was enthralled. I would sit and pay attention to every word. I pondered every word she spoke as I waited to hear what she had to say next.

Have you ever considered the possibility that our lives tell stories? People all around us are watching and listening to the tale we are telling, be it good, bad, or indifferent. Our story is told not just through our words, but also through our actions and attitudes as we deal with life’s ups and downs. The tale we are telling is visible to our children and grandchildren, spouses, neighbours, and coworkers.

As followers of Christ, Paul reminds us that our lives are like letters that are known and read by all; an epistle of Christ written not with ink but by the Spirit of God (2 Cor. 3:2-3).

What is the story that people around us are reading when they read our lives line by line? Are there any forgiveness stories? Compassion? Generosity? Patience? Love?

If we have tasted the joy of living a grace-filled life as a result of the Holy Spirit’s presence in our lives, we must embrace the joy of becoming one of God’s great storytellers!

🙏🏼 Lord Jesus, let our lives tell the story of Your love and mercy to the world around us.
