ACTS 3:13-21
In 2010, automakers in the United States recalled 20 million cars for various defects. The idea of so many faulty cars on the streets was alarming enough, but even more disturbing was the apathy of some owners. The executive director of the Center for Auto Safety reminded owners that it was a free repair and they should do it because it could save their lives. Yet despite the danger to their lives, 30 percent never responded.
Likewise, many ignore God’s “recall notice” to the entire human race. Unlike a defect found in automobiles, the moral defect of the human race is not the fault of the Creator. He made everything very good (Genesis 1:31), but sin ruined them. God’s offer to us is to repent so that our sins can be blotted out (Acts 3:19).
May we not ignore the call of the Lord. The free and permanent repair God offers for your spiritual defect will not only save our lives, but will save and transform our society as well.
