ACTS 1:1-11
“Crown Him with many crowns,
The lamb upon the throne:
Hark! How the heav’nly anthem drowns
All Music but its own!
Awake, my soul, and sing
Of Him who died for thee,
And hail Him as thy matchless King
Through all eternity.”
The ascension completed Jesus’ earthly mission and signifies, among other things, His enthronement as Heavenly King. He completed His Father’s mission and now rules with all authority and intercedes as our Mediator and High Priest.
Other kings and kingdoms come and go, He remains active and engaged in our world and our lives. No power is greater or can be compared to His presently, and He will return again to reign indisputably.
Therefore, we can live boldly, confidently, and strategically as servants of the exalted King, knowing that our labours in the Lord Jesus are not in vain (1 Cor. 15:58).
