1 KINGS 7:1–12
A young farmer once planted two fields but cared for only one. The neglected field soon became overgrown and unproductive. What we give attention to determines what flourishes. In the same way, when God is given first place, our lives are better ordered.
In 1 Kings 7:1–12, Solomon built the temple before constructing his magnificent palace. His priorities showed that God’s house came before his personal comfort. This reflects the principle Jesus taught: Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness (Matthew 6:33).
Today, examine your priorities. Career, family, possessions and personal ambitions are important, but none should displace God. Give Him your first attention, time and devotion. When God is first, everything else can find its proper place.
