1 KINGS 4:1–19
A football team cannot win because of its striker alone; the goalkeeper, defenders, midfielders and substitutes all have important roles. In the same way, 1 Kings 4:1–19 teaches us that God can accomplish great things when everyone faithfully plays their part.
The passage lists the officials Solomon appointed to administer different areas of his kingdom. Though their responsibilities differed, each person contributed to the effective running of the kingdom. Solomon’s success was not a one-man achievement.
Never think your role is insignificant because someone else’s appears greater. Whether seen or unnoticed, faithfully do what God has entrusted to you. Value the contributions of others, avoid pride, and leave the results to God.
