MARK 10:35–45
When Abraham Lincoln became President of the United States, he was known for listening carefully to critics and including political rivals in his cabinet. His humility and willingness to serve the nation earned lasting respect, proving that genuine leadership is rooted in character, not position.
In Mark 10:35–45, James and John asked Jesus for places of honour. Jesus taught them that greatness in God’s kingdom is found in serving others, not seeking prominence. He pointed to His own life, declaring that He came to serve and to give His life as a ransom for many.
Examine your motives in leadership, work and ministry. Choose humble service over self-promotion, knowing that God exalts those who faithfully serve others.
