JOHN 15:5–11
Gardeners know that healthy grapevines produce fruit because their branches remain connected to the vine. Cut off a branch, and it soon withers. In the same way, lasting spiritual fruit comes from staying connected to Christ.
In John 15:5–11, Jesus describes Himself as the true Vine and His followers as the branches. He teaches that those who abide in Him will bear much fruit, while those who live apart from Him can accomplish nothing of eternal value. Obedience to His word is evidence of abiding in Him.
To abide in Christ, spend time daily in His word, prayer, and obedience. Let His teachings guide your decisions, attitudes, and relationships. As you remain in Him, your life will reflect His character and draw others to God.
