2 KINGS 2:1–6
Who comes to mind when you hear the word mentor? For me, it was a man I fondly refer to as Uncle Isaac. He saw something in me I could not yet see in myself. He led by serving in humility and love—and now I am trying to do the same for others.
Elijah did the same for Elisha. Called by God, Elijah invited Elisha to walk alongside him. Elisha stayed close, watching, learning, and growing. Even when Elijah offered him the chance to leave, Elisha stayed, he would not go. That faithfulness was later honoured by God.
We all need people who show us how to walk with Jesus. May we learn from them—and become that person for someone else.
