SERVE CONTINUALLY

DANIEL 6:10–22

An educational psychologist, Benjamin Bloom, did research on 120 elite performers—athletes, artists, and scholars—which showed that they all practiced intensively for long periods.

This suggests that discipline is essential for personal growth, and cultivating spiritual discipline, such as regularly spending time with God, can help us grow in our trust in Him.

Daniel, a disciplined follower of God, made wise decisions and regularly prayed, giving thanks to Him. His faith was easily recognised by those around him, and King Darius knew him as a servant of the living God and one who continually served God (Daniel 6:16, 20). His life exemplifies his dedication to God.

Like Daniel, we all need God, and it is good to know that God works in us to make us long for Him. We should spend daily time with Him, trusting that it will result in love, understanding of our Saviour, and strength to do exploits.

🙏 May God who caused Daniel to excel and delivered him in time of trouble make you great and deliver you as you serve Him continually, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
