PHILIPPIANS 3:7-14
One prize is regarded as the pinnacle of achievement in every field of endeavour. Among “the big prizes” are an Olympic gold medal, a Grammy, an Oscar, or a Nobel Prize. However, there is a greater prize available to everyone.
The first-century athletic competitions in which participants gave their all to earn the prize were known to the apostle Paul. In light of this, he wrote to a group of Christians in Philippi and informed them that everything that had previously been gained for him was now seen as a loss for the love of Christ (Philippians 3:7).
We may all aim for the big prize because we know that by doing so, we honour the Lord. We are making progress toward “the big prize”—the heavenly reward that God is leading us to—each day as we go about our regular tasks.
🙏🏻Dear Lord, when we get discouraged, help us to keep pressing on till we get the prize.
