PSALM 119:14,33-40
Many people have developed the mindset that if they had money, all of their difficulties in life would be solved.
Wealth in itself is not bad, but it has the ability to trick us into believing that it is the solution to all of our problems. The psalmist presented an alternative viewpoint (Psalm 119:14,16). His view of riches places a strong emphasis on obeying God and following His commandments (v. 35).
What if our enthusiasm for obeying the Lord’s Word was greater than our passion for wealth? We might pray, along with the psalmist, that our hearts will be drawn to God’s testimonies rather than covetousness (vv. 36–37).
True riches—the riches of obedience—belong to everyone who walks with the Lord.
🙏🏻Dear Lord, help us to make a daily commitment to relying on the unchanging truth of Your Word and strengthening our bond with You, our standard of success.
