PSALM 24:1
I was confident that he would appreciate getting a world map for his birthday. After doing some shopping, I saw a vibrant map of the globe with pictures for each region. Although I was happy, I had a question regarding the label “Our World” at the bottom of the globe.
The fact that we exist on the earth makes it, in some ways, our world. But only because God has given us permission to fish in its oceans, drink its water, and mine its riches (Genesis 1:28–30). It truly is God’s world. He was aware that some of us would abuse it, claim ownership, and deny He created it. Yet He sustains it through His Son and permits us to call it home (Colossians 1:16–17).
Today, take a moment to appreciate your existence in God’s world. Enjoy the flavour of some fruit. Observe a bird and take note of its singing. Enjoy the sunset. Allow the environment you live in to motivate you to adore the One who created it.

the good seed on the land,
but it is fed and watered

the breezes and the sunshine,
and soft refreshing rain.
All good gifts around us
are sent from heaven above,
