1 CORINTHIANS 3:5-15
A woman once asked, “Why should I try to imitate Jesus now if I will be like Him in heaven?” (1 John 3:1-3). It is a sensible question! Being ourselves is much easier.
Actually, there are important considerations as to why it is crucial to imitate Him right away. However, one stands out near the top of the list. We will have to explain our lives to Him when we stand before Him at the end of time. Did we live to satisfy ourselves or the Lord?
Each person’s work quality will be tested, according to Paul (1 Corinthians 3:12-13).
Everything that we do right now to please God will stand the test of time. However, the actions we take just for our own satisfaction are akin to the “wood, hay, or straw” that will be reduced to ash when burned.
I do not know about you, but I prefer to make decisions that will honour God and last forever. I do not want to experience being surrounded by a pile of ashes and standing in front of Jesus.
Let us invest our time on activities that will last forever.
