GENESIS 39:19-23
After the initial bus broke down, several passengers, totaling 45, were trapped for 8 hours overnight at a petrol station waiting for a replacement bus. They must have been annoyed by the delay, worried about the outcome, and eager to be rescued.
When Joseph was imprisoned for a crime he did not commit, he undoubtedly felt the same way. He was stranded, abandoned and forgotten by any person who could help him. Despite this, the Lord was with Joseph and showed him grace and favour. The prison warden eventually promoted Joseph to oversee fellow inmates, and whatever Joseph did, the Lord blessed it. Despite God’s presence and blessing, Joseph was kept in prison for years.
You could be confined in a hospital room, a prison cell, a foreign nation, or even your own inner prison. God’s mercy and kindness can reach you no matter where you are or how long you have been there. Because He is God Almighty and present everywhere, He can defend, promote, and provide for you even when it appears that no one else can.
