EPHESIANS 2:14-22
The fall of the Berlin Wall on 9th November 1989 was a significant event in world history which marked the falling of the Iron Curtain and the start of the fall of communism in Eastern and Central Europe. On that day in 1989, an announcement over East German TV informed people that they were free to travel to West Germany. East German bulldozers began to dismantle the wall that for twenty-eight years had divided East and West Germany. It took about four years to remove that wall.
Jesus Christ has broken down the middle wall of separation between Jews and Gentiles (man and man). Through His death and resurrection He also removed the barrier between man and God.
All believers are now members of God’s household. Together, we are to grow into a holy temple in the Lord.
But sadly, Christians often rebuild walls between one another. Rather than doing that, let us work to dismantle what separates us.
We are members of Christ’s body, a blessed family; so let us not fight or quarrel, but live in harmony. Let the world see that we are indeed of the same household.
* Lord Jesus, may Your people be one, just as You and the Father are one. So that the world may believe that You have called us, and the earth may be filled with Your glory, as the waters cover the sea. Amen.
