MATTHEW 13:24-30.
If we step back and look at the parable of the wheat and tares, not just from the perspective of people, but from the perspective of intent, we can see God’s vexation: “An enemy has done this.”
From the fall of Adam to the trial we are facing today, the enemy has not changed. Paul said, “…Satan himself transforms…into an angel of light” (2 Corinthians 11:14).
Yet, when we are led by the Spirit of God, we can know the difference. The more of God’s word we water and cultivate in our heart and the more time we spend in prayer drawing close to the Holy Spirit, the easier it will be to know the enemy’s tricks/activities.
Also notice the calmness of the farmer. He did not allow His zealous servants to rush into uprooting the undesirable tares, so they do not mistakenly uproot the wheat. They were asked to wait for the right time. We do not have to fear or get apprehensive when facing trials. Instead, like the farmer, remain calm and trust that our Father will take care of everything in time.
