MATTHEW 24:32–35
In a small village in Enugu, Nigeria, a farmer watches the harmattan dust give way to heavy rains. The first green shoots push through red soil, a sure sign that planting season has come. Seasons shift, yet the rhythm remains.
The Gospel of Matthew 24:32–35 tells of Jesus speaking about the fig tree. When its leaves appear, summer is near. Likewise, signs will precede His return. Though heaven and earth pass away, His words will never pass away.
In Nigeria today, amid economic strain, insecurity, and uncertainty, much feels unstable. Policies change and promises falter. Yet Christ’s words remain firm. As surely as the rains return, His truth stands, calling us to remain watchful, faithful, and hopeful.
🙏 May the Lord help you trust His unchanging Word. Amen.
