EPHESIANS 4:2–6
If sailors in a storm began hacking at the hull simply because they disagreed on the rowing rhythm, the boat would sink for everyone. Our sharp words often damage the very vessel of faith that carries us all through life’s tempests.
In Ephesians 4:2–6, Paul provides the blueprint for a seaworthy community: humility, gentleness, and patience. He reminds us that because there is only one Lord, one faith, one baptism, our shared identity is far more vital than our individual disputes.
In today’s climate of outrage, it is tempting to sink others to stay afloat. However, we are called to bear with one another in love, choosing to strengthen the bond of peace rather than proving our point at a brother’s expense.
🙏 May the Lord help you to protect the unity of the faith and speak only what builds up your neighbour, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
