THE IGNORED INVITATION

LUKE 20:9–18

A man repeatedly invited his neighbour to a life-saving shelter during a storm, but the neighbour refused, trusting his own strength—until the flood overwhelmed him. Like that neighbour, we sometimes ignore timely help, assuming we are fine. Yet mercy often comes quietly, through persistent invitations we overlook.

Jesus tells of a vineyard owner in Luke 20:9–18, whose servants were mistreated by tenants. When he sent his beloved son, they killed him. This parable reveals how God’s messengers were rejected, culminating in the rejection of His Son. Jesus is the cornerstone, though refused by many.

We must not harden our hearts. God still calls us today. Accept Christ’s lordship, for rejecting Him leads to ruin, but receiving Him brings life. Choose surrender, not resistance.

🙏 I pray that your heart will be softened and opened to receive and follow Jesus always. Amen.
