THE COSTLY GIFT

LUKE 23:33–49

A young boy once received a gift he could not afford, given at great personal cost by a friend. Though free to him, it carried deep sacrifice. Good Friday reflects this truth: salvation is freely given, yet it came at the highest price. What seems like loss reveals the depth of divine love.

Jesus was crucified among criminals, mocked and rejected. Yet His death was no accident; He willingly gave His life for sinners. Darkness covered the land, and the temple veil was torn, signifying restored access to God. Even a Roman centurion acknowledged His righteousness.

We are invited to respond personally. Christ’s sacrifice offers freedom from sin and reconciliation with God. Do not ignore this costly gift. Accept it, live by it, and let it transform your daily walk.

🙏 May the Lord help you receive His gift and walk in His grace. Amen.
