MATTHEW 4:1–11
A neighbour’s tiny puppy once barked furiously at passing cars, as if it ruled the road. Its noise sounded fierce, yet it had no real power. So it is with temptation—loud, unsettling, but smaller than it seems.
As Jesus was tempted in the wilderness (Matthew 4:1–11), He kept answering Satan with Scripture, refusing to doubt God or grasp power wrongly. As John the Apostle writes in 1 John 4:4, the One within us is greater than the one in the world.
Today, temptations still shout through pride, fear and compromise. Yet God’s Spirit is stronger. When we hold to His Word, the enemy retreats, and Christ’s victory steadies our hearts.
🙏 May the Lord strengthen you to stand firm in Him. Amen.
