ROMANS 12:9–16
After a village flood, a woman who had lost her home sat beside neighbours who had lost theirs. She had no answers—only tears—and that was enough. Sometimes shared sorrow becomes shared strength.
In Romans 12:9–16, Paul urges believers to love sincerely, honour one another, live in harmony, and rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. The church is pictured as a family, bound together in practical, self-giving love.
Our wounds may differ in size, yet each is real. When we allow others into our grief or joy, healing begins. God can use our pain to comfort someone else. In a lonely world, compassionate presence speaks powerfully. Lord, teach us to share both tears and joy.
🙏 May you be compassionate, ready to share in others’ joy and sorrow. Amen.
