LUKE 14:27–28
A traveller once set out lightly packed, only to realise the journey demanded everything he carried. Following Jesus is like that—grace welcomes us freely, but discipleship reshapes our whole lives.
In Luke 14:27–28, Jesus urges His listeners to count the cost of discipleship. He speaks of carrying the cross and choosing commitment over comfort. Matthew 8:19–22 reinforces this truth, as Jesus calls would-be followers to immediate obedience, not convenient faith.
Today, grace still costs us our idols, ambitions, and control. Yet what we lose cannot compare with knowing Christ. When we surrender daily, God transforms our desires and leads us into deeper, truer life with Him.
