GALATIANS 2:11-21
Is it possible that technological advancements in communication have made us unable to deal with people the way we should? After all, employers can now email layoff notices to employees. People can criticize on Facebook and Twitter rather than face to face. Perhaps we should follow the example of Paul who was able to confront Peter when they had a difference of opinion.
Peter had been in fellowship with the Gentiles, but when the Judaizers (who believed that sinners would be saved by Jesus and by keeping the law of Moses) arrived, Peter separated from the Gentiles. Paul confronted him for pretending because of a legalistic system that was powerless to change lives. He strongly reminded Peter that grace leads to freedom from the bondage of sin and obedience to God.
Having brave conversations with other Christians can be difficult, but they promote morality and harmony. We can fulfill our mutual responsibility to speak the truth with love (Ephesians 4:15) by walking in the power of the Holy Spirit.
🙏Lord, give us the courage to confront believers who have gone astray; then gently restore by coming to their aid.
