LUKE 23:50-56
In 1943, Danish teacher Aage Bertelsen refused Nazi orders to identify Jewish families, risking execution. His solitary defiance saved hundreds, proving one person’s integrity can thwart collective wickedness.
Joseph of Arimathea, a Sanhedrin member, dissented from the council condemning Jesus. Though part of the group plotting Christ’s death, this good and righteous man had not consented to their counsel. He waited expectantly for God’s kingdom, maintaining integrity amidst corruption (Luke 23:50-51).
Believers today face pressure to conform to worldly systems. Yet true faith demands we resist evil rather than retreat. Like Joseph, we are called to shine as lights in dark places, using our positions to serve God’s purposes, not compromise with wrongdoing. Wherever you are, be the light for Jesus—do not join the darkness, but overcome it.
🙏 May God grant you courage to stand firm in truth, shining His light wherever darkness reigns, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
