1 CORINTHIANS 10:1–13
In the Californian city of Santa Barbara, there is a street with an unusual name. “Leave if you can” is what it means; it is called “Salsipuedes.” Spanish-speaking city planners gave the area its name, which was a not-so-subtle caution to stay clear of a marsh that occasionally flooded when it was first established.
The Bible advises us to avoid the “wrong road” of sin and temptation, urging us to turn from it and continue on our path. It also provides assurance that God is faithful and will not let us be tempted beyond our limits. However, when tempted, God will provide a way out to endure it.
God promises not to let us be tempted beyond our withstandability, encouraging us to turn to Him when temptation comes. The Bible affirms Jesus’ ability to empathize with our weaknesses and his unwavering commitment to not sin. Jesus knows the way out of every temptation and will guide us as we run to Him.
🙏Thank you, Lord, for your promise to provide a way out whenever we face temptation.
